Email Security by DCS — What These Banners Mean
When you see a blue safety banner like the one above, that’s DCS Managed Email Security at work. We analyze every message with advanced, behavior-based protection and add a simple, color-coded banner so you can make confident, fast decisions.
The banner gives you quick actions (for example: Safe, Spam, Phish, More…) and a help link back to this page. Our goal is to stop Phishing, brand impersonation, and other email-borne threats before they reach you — and coach users right inside the inbox.
At-a-Glance: Banner Types
The banner summarizes our analysis of the message. You’ll typically see one of these outcomes:
- Internal – Message appears to come from inside your organization. Use normal caution and verify unexpected requests.
- Informational / Safe – Nothing suspicious detected. Still be mindful of links and attachments.
- Caution – Something looks off (unusual sender behavior, visual Spoofing, or mismatched links). Slow down and review.
- Warning – High-risk indicators of phishing or fraud. Do not click links or open attachments. Use the banner’s Phish action.
- External / New Sender – From outside your company or a first-time correspondent. Verify identity before sharing information.
Note: Colors and labels may vary slightly based on policy, but the actions in the banner always guide you safely.
What Should I Do with a Suspicious Email?
- Use the banner buttons: choose Phish or Spam to report it instantly.
- Do not reply, click links, or open attachments if you’re unsure.
- Still uncertain? Call our team at 844-TECHIES or contact us. We’ll verify it for you.
